Sun Health truck has new look

Highlights impact of furniture

A new vehicle wrap on the outside, with truckloads of hope on the inside.

This describes the new look and inspiration of the Sun Health Resale Shops furniture donation pickup truck. The messages “Truckloads of Hope on the Inside,” “Shop with a Purpose” and “Helping People Live Longer, Healthier, More Purposeful Lives” are part of the eye-catching new design.

Beyond eye-catching, the design underscores the impact gently-used furniture donations can make. They support health care and wellness programs at community hospitals when they’re sold at the Sun Health Resale Boutique, 9843 W. Bell Road, Sun City and Sun Health Resale Shop, 14465 West R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West.

Furniture pickup is free and can be scheduled by calling 623-974-1010. Pickup areas include Northwest Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West and Surprise, including Sun City Grand.

Donations of mid-size and smaller furniture items in very good, boutique-selling condition are preferred, including couches, recliners, dressers, kitchen tables and chairs, stands for flat screen TVs and more. Sought-after styles include Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian and antique/vintage, to name a few.

The best part of donating furniture and other items — and visiting the shops to purchase — is the feeling that comes from giving back to the community to ensure the best health care services continue to be available for family, friends and neighbors. Because customers will be shopping with a purpose, they can feel good knowing that funds from every purchase help fund critical health care projects through Sun Health Foundation’s Generosity for Generations campaign. All purchases are sales-tax free.

For those who also like to shop online, visit and follow eBay for new items every week.

For volunteering opportunities, contact Sue Slezak at 623-974-2000.
