In good times and bad, Sun City West residents always persevere. And now more than ever, it’s important to recognize the individuals, organizations and local businesses making a difference in the community.
Uncertain times have provided an opportunity for people to shine, and Independent Newsmedia wants to acknowledge those who have had an impact on the others around them.
To that end, the Sun City West Independent has again partnered with Sun Health Communities to present its 2020 Hometown Heroes Awards, an award celebration of individuals and businesses identified for their local achievements and distinguished contributions in Sun City West.
While the date for the celebratory community event has yet to be determined and is largely dependent on the reopening of area facilities, nominations are open and forms are available at YourValley.net (select Our Events in the upper right, then select Hometown Heroes) or by emailing aznews@newszap.com.
Categories for recognition include Community, which is comprised of individual or group representatives in the form of Arts Innovator, Emergency Responder, Mentor, Spiritual, Trailblazer, Veteran, Volunteer, Lifetime Achievement and Other, and a Business category, which is divided into Arts, Culture, & Entertainment, Education, Entrepreneur, Health Care, Nonprofit Organization, Small Business, Large Business and Other.
Sponsorships are also available for businesses and trusted organizations, which can partner to support these local heroes and their achievements.
