The Del Webb Sun Cities Museum, 10801 W. Oakmont Drive, officials enjoyed presenting “Christmas, 1960-Style” at an open house Dec. 16 and saw strong community participation and support.
In addition to the chance to tour the museum, visitors were entertained by performances from the Sun City Ukulele Club and the Sun City Poms. The museum was decorated for the season in 1960s style, including a white artificial tree, complete with decorations.
The museum board also conducted its annual meeting. New board directors were elected. Bret McKeand and Tim Ericson were returned to the board to replace A.J. Kovac and Bill Pearson, whose terms were completed. The new board elected Don Tuffs, Paul Herrmann, Michael Marting and Ben Roloff as its officers for 2022. The board is already busy planning new exhibits and trying to add additional days for being open, while at the same time navigating the museum through the ever-changing COVID-19 pandemic.
The board also voted that beginning Jan. 1 there will be a $5 entrance fee charge for adults who are not museum members. Annual memberships remain available, beginning at $25 per year for a family. Membership includes a number of benefits.
