Gilbert is among the cheapest places in the United States to get a beer, according to a study from an online betting site.
Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Betting.com analyzed the average cost of draught beer and bottled beer in the 100 most populated cities in the US, revealing the cheapest, and most expensive, locations for the beverage, of which Americans consume almost 6.4 million gallons annually.
Gilbert came in sixth at $4 for draught beer and $5.25 for bottled.
Toledo, Ohio, boasts being home to the cheapest beer in the nation overall, with a draught beer costing just $3.25 and a bottled beer costing $5. This is followed by El Paso, Texas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wichita, Kansas, and Greensboro, North Carolina, tied for fourth place.
New York was found to have the expensive beer, followed by Los Angeles, San Jose, Honolulu and San Diego.
Consumers have been predicted to spend an average of about $44 to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, according to statista.com, but the results can depend on the ZIP code, as the betting.com report indicates.
The cost of draught beer and bottled beer (imported) was taken from Numbeo and a weighted ranking was applied to find the most and least expensive locations. All data was collected on Feb. 2.
