Shive: Not easy to maintain social distance in Sun City

Posted

This is in response to the letter (“Reader is concerned with pedestrians,” Sun City Independent, May 6, 2020) regarding people walking in the streets.

If we need to maintain the required “social distancing,” it is impossible to not walk in the street sometimes. If you are approaching another person on the sidewalk, you have to get off the sidewalk and walk in the street and maintain a distance of at least six feet or more. People walking in the street are attempting to keep social distancing.

Also, when I walk in the morning or most anytime now, I will see maybe see 4-5 cars pass by in a two-mile stretch. It can be done safely.
