Several freeway ramps in Tempe closed this weekend

Construction work will close several ramps on Interstate 10 and US 60 in Tempe until Monday, Arizona transportation officials said.

The ramps, which closed Friday night as part of the Broadway Curve construction project, will remain closed until 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1.

The ramps affected are:

• Westbound I-10 from westbound US 60 and southbound SR 143.

• The westbound I-10 on-ramps between Elliot and Broadway roads.

• The westbound US 60 on-ramps between McClintock Drive and Mill Avenue.

The restrictions are among a series of planned weekend closures this summer and fall as crews make progress on the construction of the Broadway Road and 48th street bridges.

In addition this weekend, westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between US 60 and SR 14 through 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, so crews can work on the new Broadway Road bridge.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to allow extra travel time and plan to use detours if they’re traveling on Interstate 10 in the East Valley and near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

DETOURS
Use eastbound Loop 202 or US 60 to northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 to access westbound I-10. Drivers heading to the West Valley can bypass the work zone by using Loop 202 and north to connect with I-10 at 59th Avenue.

Sky Harbor International Airport traffic: Motorists traveling to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport should allow extra travel time and use the Sky Harbor Boulevard entrance from Loop 202.
