A San Tan Valley nonprofit is hosting a health fair this weekend that will be offering free mammograms among other medical screenings.
The Mary Gloria Foundation, formerly Pan de Vida, will host a variety of adult health services from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Queen Creek Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road in the North side parking lot and inside the Zane Grey and Abby rooms.
Attendees at the free Wellness & You: Your Health Matters event can get blood glucose finger sticks, blood pressure checks, height/weight measurements, BMI calculations, vision screenings, mental health assessments, referrals for abnormalities and flu shots.
Banner Children's Healthmobile will be offering pediatric outreach services including sick visits and follow-up care, well-child exams, sports and camp physicals and immunizations, health education, and referrals to appropriate specialty care. The cost of specialty services is not covered by Banner Children’s Community Clinic, but discounted fees for visits are available to eligible patients.
The health fair will also include activities for the whole family such as yoga sessions, folklorico dancing, snack-making ideas, pumpkin decorating and make-and-take crafts. Vendors will be on hand to hand out swag and other giveaways.
The Mary Gloria Foundation was created in 2003 to help the unserved and underserved residents of San Tan Valley and Queen Creek.
