Royse Contemporary will present “Everything Belongs to the Sun, ”showcasing the last painting collection of Daniel Shepherd, May 20-July 4 at the gallery in the Scottsdale Arts District at 7077 E. Main Street, Suite 6 in Scottsdale.
“Everything Belongs to the Sun” will open to the public on May 20 coinciding with the Scottsdale Artwalk from 6 to 9 p.m., according to a press release, describing the exhibition that will be on display at Royse Contemporary.
Curator Nicole Royse stated inspiration for this work was “a new beginning, our world is different than it was and I wanted to create a vibrant colorful promise of hope and tranquility.”
Artist Shepherd has created, the release said, a collection of minimal abstract paintings with an evocative use of color that engages the viewers senses. The self-taught artist based in Phoenix is creating vibrant abstract paintings and vintage collages.
His work is included in private collections around the world and he has exhibited his work extensively throughout Arizona and California.
Represented by Royse Contemporary in Scottsdale, his work has been featured in numerous publications online and in print, the release added.
New limited summer exhibition hours are 6-9 p.m. on Thursday and 12-4 p.m. on Saturday. Private appointments are available.
