The city of El Mirage invites the public to attend its El Mirage Cares: Bullying & Suicide Prevention Event.

The community forum-style event is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Dysart Elementary School, 12950 W. Varney Road in El Mirage.

Officials from various agencies will be on hand to discuss bullying and suicide prevention.

“Bullying won’t stop unless we all stop looking the other way, and get involved," a flyer states. “Let’s learn how we can all help to protect our loved ones and prevent suicide."

Separate sessions are available for adults and youth.

Free refreshments and food are available, as is childcare for children 3 years old to second grade.

Among the participating agencies are the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, Crisis Response Network, the Dysart Unified School District, and Teen Lifeline.

Attendees can RSVP with Amber Wakeman at 623-876-2962 or awakeman@elmirageaz.gov.
