The Valleys Largest Black History and Multicultural Music Festival Returns to Peoria After Hiatus Due to COVID-19A large Black History Festival has returned to Peoria after being canceled last year due to COVID-19. Fans of the popular event have been asking every year for its return. Peoria Arts and Culture, The Northwest Black History Committee and Vibrant Community presents the 25th annual, February 11, 2023, during National Black History Month and Super Bowl weekendOver the past 25 years,the event has featured artist like; The Mighty Clouds of Joy, War, CeCe Peniston, Joe McBride, Ramsey Lewis, Stanley Jordan, Bobby Rush, Carl Carlton,Tierra, Little Joe y La Familia and many others. The festival also include art, dance, vendors, food, and medical screening and awareness stations.Celebrate 50 years of Latin and R&B Music with The Tierra Legacy band which includes original and longtime members who created their timeless music and a salute to The Intruders. Their biggest hit was the 1980 remake of The Intruders’ 1967 hit “Together” written by Gamble & Huff, which reached No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 9 on the US Billboard chart. It was a number one record on Los Angeles radio. Also performing are “The Intruders” whos hits include: “Cowboys to Girls”, “I wanna know your name”, “United" and many others.
