Scottsdale-based Plexus Worldwide, a global direct-selling health and wellness company, has donated $25,000 to Our Military Kids in honor of Veterans Day.
Plexus Worldwide has supported the organization for many years due to its company’s history of supporting community organizations, according to a press release.
The $25,000 donation from Plexus to Our Military Kids will support the nonprofit’s grants fund, which helps children from military families of service members and veterans afford sports, arts and other activities; to cope with stress and anxiety while their parents recover from severe injuries sustained in combat or deployed, the release said.
“Plexus is proud to once again support Our Military Kids with a donation to their grants fund,” said Tarl Robinson, Plexus Worldwide founder/CEO, in a prepared statement.
“When a parent’s deployment or battle injury brings stress to a child, it’s amazing what simple activities – like ballet or baseball – can do. We know this donation will help more children better cope with life as part of a military family.”
Plexus has regularly supported veterans-related causes like Our Military Kids by making previous donations to the OMK’s grand fund and by organizing activities for military families, including an outing to an Arizona Diamondbacks game, the release noted.
“Plexus has been a long-time supporter of Our Military Kids and we are so thankful for their involvement in helping us assist families by removing the cost burden of extra-curricular program fees for children’s activities so that kids have a safe place to simply be kids,” said Chelly Criqui, of Our Military Kids, in a prepared statement.
In addition to supporting Our Military Kids, Plexus has partnered with local Arizona charities and programs throughout the year, including Phoenix Children’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Food Bank, Cancer Support Community Arizona, The Salvation Army and more.
Plexus also has its Nourish One Initiative which benefits Feeding America, noted among the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a network of food banks, the release added.
