Open burning
Pinal County to resume issuance of open burning permits Monday
Pinal County
State law prohibits open burning in Area A from May 1 through Sept. 30. The Pinal County portion of Area A includes Apache Junction, Queen Creek, Gold Canyon, San Tan Valley and portions of Florence.
Starting Monday, Sept. 26, Pinal County Air Quality will resume issuing open burning permits, with Oct. 1 as the effective date of the permit.
Open burning permits allow for the disposal of plant material originated on the property during limited daytime hours, according to a release.
Options for obtaining a burn permit include:
In-person 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Florence office at the Development Services Building, 85 N. Florence St.;
In-person 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday using a kiosk at the Mammoth office, 118 Catalina St. Staff will be available to assist you if needed; and
Online, where customers can apply 24 hours a day, seven days a week; however, permits are only issued 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m Monday-Friday and may take up to 24 hours to process. Online permits can be attained by going to: citizenaccess.pinalcountyaz.gov/CitizenAccess/Default.aspx.
