Pieper: Easter pancake breakfast proceeds provide gift

Posted

Since Easter is the most joyous Christian event, the annual Easter pancake breakfast at Mountain View Lutheran Church is a widely anticipated fun and fundraising event following our Easter Sunrise Service. The 2021 breakfast was a special one following the 2020 COVID-19 year when all our community activities went dark.

In keeping with the mission of Mountain View Lutheran Church, each year one of the local charities in Apache Junction is selected to be the beneficiary of the Easter pancake breakfast free will donation, and this year the selected charity was Arizona Branch of Orphan Grain Train.

Orphan Grain Train is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian volunteer network that shares personal and material resources with needy people in America and around the world. Grain Train volunteers gather donations of clothing, medical supplies, food, Christian literature and other aid to meet real needs.

This year, Mountain View Lutheran Church, 2122 S. Goldfield Road, was pleased to share with Arizona Branch of Orphan Grain Train the pancake breakfast proceeds in the amount of $496. MVLC looks forward to providing continued support to Orphan Grain Train and the many other worthy charities here in Apache Junction.
