Off-leash dog park agreement with Pinal County before Apache Junction City Council Tuesday

A resolution authorizing an agreement with Pinal County for an off-leash dog park at the County Complex at 575 N. Idaho Road will be discussed Tuesday by the Apache Junction City Council.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in the City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.

In June 2019, City Council gave direction to the parks and recreation staff to proceed on the design phase of a future dog park and work with county staff on the park. The parks and recreation commission has been involved in reviewing the dog park design over the last year and the public arts commission is considering placement of art at the new park, according to a memo to the council from Parks and Recreation Director Liz Langenbach.
