Noche para los Niños, to benefit Kids in Focus, kicked off planning year
Posted
The Noche para los Niños event committee kicked off their year of planning at the Paradise Valley home of Christie Davis.
Event Chair, Bea Rocklin, welcomed the all-volunteer committee and laid out the agenda for the fourth annual event, according to a press release.
Noche para los Niños, a magical feast of the senses and fundraising event, is slated for 6–10 p.m. Nov. 10, at the Arizona Heritage Center at Papago Park.
Guests at the fall event can expect to be dazzled with live music, a variety of performing artists, children’s photography, silent and live auctions, culinary stations and a hosted bar, all in an open-air setting with a Día de los Muertos theme.
This year’s honorary chair is long-time supporter, Billie Jo Herberger.
Noche para los Niños is a fun way to bring together the community to celebrate children and their resilience in the face of hardships. The Kids in Focus organization provides at-risk youth with life-changing camps, workshops, after-school, and alumni programs, the press release stated. Funds for Noche para los Niños will specifically support intensive photography mentoring programs for vulnerable children, which opens their eyes to their own potential by instilling confidence, character, trust, self-expression and belonging.
Noche para los Niños has raised over $300,000 for Kids in Focus. This event is vital to the operation of the Kids in Focus organization as it provides roughly a quarter of the operating budget per year. Kids in Focus has served thousands of children over the past 10 years.
Currently there are more than 700 actively enrolled in the Kids in Focus program each year. Kids in Focus connects with youth through partner organizations serving those in need, including schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, foster care organizations, and others.
