New coffeehouse franchise to enter Valley market in Queen Creek area

Posted

A Utah-based coffeehouse franchise is making is making its Valley debut by opening locations in Queen Creek and San Tan Valley.

According to a press release, Beans & Brews Coffeehouse has partnered with a group of franchisees, mostly from Queen Creek, to bring the new coffeehouses. The group is comprised of Queen Creek residents Howard Sparks Jr., Brandi Adams, and Paige and Pete Hargis. Two other group members, Marty and Tabitha Carter, live out of state.

The franchise deal was just signed, and the franchisee group currently is in the process of looking for locations. The group anticipates the first location will open in the second quarter of 2023.

“This partnership marks a major milestone in reaching Beans & Brews’ growth potential, and accurately reflects the quality of franchisees we are seeking to invest in our future,” stated Kim Falk, vice president of franchise development for Beans & Brews Coffeehouse, in a press release.  “Breaking into a new market like Phoenix is a tremendous step forward for us, and we look forward to ingratiating ourselves with the local community.”

The franchisee group has a diverse business background, according to the press release. Sparks worked in the finance industry and is expected to play a key role in the growth and development of Beans & Brews in San Tan Valley and Queen Creek. Spark’s wife, Brandi Adams, has experience ranging from retail and accounting to working as a pathology technician. Paige Hargis is a full-time real estate agent, while Pete Hargis owns and operates a sports-training facility.

“Our team fell in love with Beans & Brews after learning that it’s a family business,” Sparks stated in the release. “The brand’s saying ‘We don’t just brew coffee, we brew community,’ really resonated with our group, and we are excited for the opportunity to provide the community a place to gather and enjoy one another’s company.”

Beans & Brews Coffeehouse supports its communities through charitable giving. The brand launched its Brew Good program, which makes donations to different local organizations and nonprofits. Through the program, the brand’s guests get to vote on which organization receives donations, the release stated.

“Community is at the root of everything we do at Beans & Brews Coffeehouse,” said CEO and founder, Jeff Laramie in the release. “We work to not only provide our guests with a great space to enjoy their favorite cup of coffee, but we also give back to our communities and the charitable organizations that they’re passionate about.”

Founded in 1993 and franchising since 2004, Beans & Brews Coffeehouse has 67 locations open across four states. The company has a goal of awarding 30 licenses by the end of 2022. Including the franchise fee, the initial investment for a Beans & Brews Coffeehouse location ranges from $400,000 to $650,000.
