The Aug. 2 primary election features three candidates in District 4, one in District 5 and two in District 6 who are seeking three open seats on Mesa City Council. To be elected at the Primary Election, a candidate must receive a majority of all of the legal votes cast for that candidate’s race. After the primary election, any remaining seats will compete in the Tuesday, Nov. 8 general election.
Residents who are registered voters in the city of Mesa by July 5 are eligible to vote in the Aug. 2 primary election.
Leading up to the forum and the election, the Independent is conducting Q&A’s with the candidates to better learn each person’s position on various topics important to city residents including.
