Maricopa Community Colleges, ASU partner to offer student transfer pathways

Posted

The Maricopa County Community College District announced Thursday a new alliance with Arizona State University that will provide students with a seamless transfer experience.

The new MAPP MyPath2ASU program will allow community college students to take necessary steps at the beginning of their higher education experience to successfully plan a transfer to ASU. The set of customized tools for transfer students will ensure a seamless transfer of credits or associate degree and shorten the time it takes to earn a four-year degree from ASU.

“I want to say how proud I am of the work both the Maricopa Community Colleges and Arizona State University have done in bettering the transfer experience," said Dr. Steven R. Gonzales, MCCCD Interim Chancellor, in a news release.

The benefits of MAPP MyPath2ASU will include:

  • Navigation through course-by-course guided pathways
  • Ensure course applicability and assist students with taking courses that will apply to an associate’s degree and ASU bachelor’s degree
  • Guaranteed general admission to ASU and a MAPP MyPath2ASU major choice if all requirements are satisfied; some majors have additional requirements
  • Self-service degree progress tracking through the Pathway Tracker to minimize loss of credit
