The city of Litchfield Park is looking for questions and comments from residents as it prepares for the annual State of the City address next month.
Residents are invited to attend the virtual address scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.
A Q&A session will be held during the event. Participants should submit questions and comments to City Clerk Terri Roth at troth@litchfield-park.org by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, and register for the meeting by clicking on the State of the City link at litchfield-park.org.
The address also will be live-streamed on the city's YouTube channel.
During the address, Mayor Thomas L. Schoaf, the City Council and city staff will present information on city operations as well as current and future projects.
The city has seen numerous challenges and changes since the 2020 State of the City address.
In addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city saw staff changes that included the retirements of City Manager Bill Stephens and City Attorney Susan Goodwin. Assistant City Manager Matthew Williams was appointed to serve as interim city manager, and Ms. Goodwin oversaw the hiring of her replacement, Joseph Estes, at Phoenix-based law firm Gust Rosenfeld PLC.
In October, several city staff members took on new roles under a reorganization that saw Community & Recreation Services become its own department and Tricia Kramer promoted to the department’s director.
Recreation staff changes included division of duties that previously belonged to Recreation Office Manager Chris Weaver, who passed away in July after an illness. Pat McCoy was named sports coordinator, Seye White preschool director, Jenna Gore aquatics coordinator and Christian Tena media assistant.
Earlier in the year, Paige Peterson replaced Lars Johnson as finance director after he accepted a position with Yavapai County.
