Litchfield Park is seeking statements of qualification from firms/individuals wishing to be considered for engineering services for design of phases four and five of the city’s Downtown Storm Drain and Floodplain Re-Delineation Project.

The project will complete the city’s master planned system, according to documents on the city’s website, litchfield-park.org.

The firm or individual selected for the project must be knowledgeable in all areas of municipal storm drain design and floodplain re-delineations, the announcement stated. Extensive knowledge of urban storm drain hydraulic analysis and design, as well as procedures for re-delineation of FEMA floodplains is required.

Phase 4 construction will begin at the end of Phase 3 on Old Litchfield Road about 30 feet north of Wigwam Boulevard, and will extend to Fairway Drive, where it will turn west and extend to the La Loma Avenue intersection.

Phase 5 is on Neolin Avenue from Wigwam Boulevard to Fairway Drive, together with a proposed open channel within the Wigwam Golf Course extending westerly toward Old Litchfield Road, the announcement stated.

The project will be partially funded by a grant from the Maricopa County Flood Control District.

Statements should be submitted to City Engineer Woody Scoutten by 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15. Target date for awarding of the contract by the City Council is Sept. 15.

For more information, email Scoutten at wscoutten@litchfield-park.org or call 623-889-6208.
