Komando to be inducted in ASU’s Alumni Hall of Fame

Posted

Arizona State University has invited radio host and tech expert Kim Komando to be inducted into the 2021 W.P. Carey School of Business Alumni Hall of Fame at the ASU Tempe campus on Thursday, Oct. 28, kicking off ASU’s Homecoming weekend.

Established in 1977, the honor is awarded to select business school alumni who, according to a press release, demonstrated exceptional achievement and leadership in their profession along with giving back to their communities.

Other accomplished Hall of Fame inductees include Chris Cookson, former President of Sony Pictures and Craig Weatherup, former CEO of Pepsi-Cola North America, the release said.

With more than two decades or experience, the 1985 ASU graduate with a bachelor's degree in computer information systems has delivered tech advice to consumers with an emphasis on different ways to use technology, digital products and services to enhance lives.

“So much of what I have used to build and grow my business I learned at ASU,” said Komando in a prepared statement. “My father was the one who told me to go to ASU. I wish he were still alive to see me accept this prestigious honor.”

Described as a serial entrepreneur, tech guru, award-winning author and keynote speaker, Komando uses her business acumen to help people around the world connect with technology. The Kim Komando Studios and Headquarters is a 24,000 square-foot broadcast facility in Phoenix. The company has no debt and no investors, noted the release.
