Johnny Randall Charles was born March 10, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to John Vernon Charles and Virginia Marie (Inlow) Charles, and peacefully passed into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 27, 2024 in Boulder, CO.
Randall graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City in 1947. He began a life-changing relationship with God through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in 1973, and enthusiastically served in various capacities in churches he attended ever after. He also had a lifelong love of music, particularly related to the theatre pipe organ, and enjoyed playing in the theatre style both at home and for specials at church. He pursued various occupations and business endeavors in Kansas City, MO, Estes Park, CO, and Phoenix, Camp Verde, and Sun City, AZ. For over ten years, he was Arizona area director for Follow Up Ministries International, a jail and prison ministry, the position from which he retired in 2013.
Randall is survived by children Jeffrey, of Sunland, CA, and David (Wendy) of Loveland, CO; his sister-in-law Laura (Dale) Nichols of Eureka Springs, AR, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of nearly 61 years, Wilma Darlene (Trimble) Charles.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Sun City (11019 W. Peoria Avenue, Sun City, AZ 85351) Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Theatre Organ Society (www.atos.org/donate) or First Baptist Church of Sun City.
