Posted
Ground Floor Artists, 13343 W. Foxfire Drive, Suite 3, features regular classes in different art forms, including the following early December classes:
• Soft Pastel Painting with Kelley Smith is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8. This class is designed for the absolute beginner and will go over briefly the history and basic use of soft pastels.
Participants may bring their own pastels or may use what is provided. Soft pastels are made from pure pigments with a small of amount of binder. The vibrant and rich colors produced by pastels will last lifetimes if framed properly.
Soft pastels are often called “eye candy” because of the richness of the colors. Class fee of $40 includes all materials needed to paint two 9”x12” pastel paintings on professional sanded paper made especially for pastels.
• Kids Sewing Club will teach the basics of sewing stitches and embroidery to create projects such as stuffed animals, book bags, purses, etc.
All students who book four or more classes will receive a personalized sewing kit to take home and bring to class each week or can purchase one in class for $15.
All supplies will be provided. The next class is from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 and is on Stuffed Elf or Reindeer.
• Wooden Christmas Sign is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Get in the holiday spirit and create a wooden Christmas sign to display all season. There will be multiple designs to choose from. It is a date night, girls night out or fun family event.
Private events, parties and corporate events are available upon request.
