Goodyear Police Department’s Traffic Unit has received a $40,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for DUI enforcement, overtime, public education events and “Know Your Limit” campaigns for the 2021 fiscal year.

The goal of the traffic enforcement unit and the execution of this grant are to reduce the incidence of traffic fatalities and injuries as well as the high cost to residents resulting from DUI/Impaired Driving, according to a release.

The grant will allow Goodyear Police to conduct enforcement, participate in DUI Task Forces and provide education and public awareness.
