Gilbert High dance ends early after gun reports
Posted
INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Reports that someone with a gun was on campus ended Gilbert High School's homecoming dance early Saturday night.
Gilbert police said they found no guns on campus, and there were no injuries.
Students were sent home from the dance early, according to a statement from high school officials.
"The safety of our students in Gilbert Public Schools is a top priority and in a situation such as this our Gilbert High adminstration and staff work directly with the police department to ensure the safety of our students," the statement said.
An investigation is continuing, according to school officials.
