Frontier Tattoo Co. celebrating 7 years in business in February

Posted

A business in Copper Basin in San Tan Valley — Frontier Tattoo Co., 2510 E. Hunt Highway Suite 12 — will be celebrating its seventh anniversary on Feb. 1, 2021.

“With four award-winning tattoo artists and two piercers, we’re able to meet all of your tattoo and piercing needs at a fair price,” according to a release.

“We feature a newly remodeled, clean, sterile, comfortable, high-end environment that comes with a heavy dose of laughter. Our tattoo artists are given artistic license to do what they do best — tattoos with a ‘wow’ factor the wearer will be happy to show off. Our piercers are caring and professional and will put you at ease whether you’re looking to decorate yourself with an earlobe piercing, industrial piercing or a micro dermal,” it states.

The business also offers daith piercing, which is also known as the migraine piercing.

“While we can’t guarantee it’ll work for you, we do have about a 98% success rate with the daith piercing helping to relieve or even eliminate migraines. We also offer earlobe piercings for ages 5 and up,” according to the release.

Artists and piercers

Artists and piercers at Frontier Tattoo Co. include the following, according to the release:

  • Paul Mcc has 27 years of professional tattoo experience. He is a diverse artist but his specialties include cover-up and Asian-inspired tattoos. A quiet and thoughtful man, he puts a lot of himself into each and every tattoo he does. He takes pride in every tattoo whether it’s large or small.
  • Craig Naegle has 22 years of professional tattoo experience. Mr. Naegle is an Air Force veteran and the resident chaplain. His color work and detail is amazing, and his booming laugh is highly contagious. From American traditional to small outline-only tattoos, he nails a great tattoo every time.
  • Joshua Marchand has 21 years of professional tattoo experience. A native of New Mexico, he owned Zia Ink in Alamorgordo before his wife’s schooling recently brought them to Arizona. He is a detail-oriented artist who enjoys realism and knocks every tattoo out of the ballpark.
  • Andy Rodriguez has almost seven years of professional experience. A Queen Creek native, he is schooled in every type of tattoo but he mostly enjoys lettering and black and grey work. The youngest artist, he is the class clown.
  • Kristie Simms has five years of professional piercing experience. The mother of two teenage daughters has a way with clients that — whether they’re 5 or 70 — immediately puts them at ease. She is knowledgeable of the entire piercing process, jewelry selection and after-care.
  • Brook Adams, the junior piercer, apprenticed under Ms. Simms. Ms. Adams is gaining experience daily and will soon be a full-fledged piercer. She’s bubbly, a fast learner and fun to have around.

Giving back to community

Frontier Tattoo Co. and its customers believe in giving back. In December 2020, the business helped out the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office’s Shop with a Sheriff program.

“We very much enjoyed donating food, toys, $200 in client-donated cash and a $500 check. We also hold a year-round blanket/food/toy drive for the Pinal County Animal Control Shelter, and each spring we hold a water drive for St. Vincent de Paul. Our clients are amazing about donating to our causes,” according to the release.

“Due to COVID this year, we haven’t been able to do a lot of the fundraiser functions here at the shop we’re used to doing so we started thinking outside the box. Instead of throwing a fundraiser, we did an online essay contest with $25-$175 Walmart gift card prizes for elementary, middle and high school kids. We ended up with some great essays and some really tough decisions,” the release states.

“We’ve also held fundraisers for Central Arizona Animal Rescue, Military Assistance Mission, Arizona Hemophiliac Association, St. Joe’s NICU, Children’s Hospital, 2nd Chance Dog Rescue and more. When we hold fundraisers, we offer a free flash tattoo or basic piercing with a minimum $20 donation to the cause we’re fundraising for. Unfortunately, because our fundraisers draw huge crowds, we’ve had to put them off until further notice. We’ll be sure to announce our future fundraisers on social media so keep an eye out,” it states.

Like most ethical tattoo shops, unless you are heavily tattooed already, Frontier Tattoo Co. does not do neck, face, hand or finger tattoos. It also does not tattoo anyone under 18 even with parental consent.
