Free transportation, assistance registering for the COVID-19 vaccine

Posted

FreshStart, a health care staffing, recruiting and training agency in Phoenix, is offering free transportation and assistance registering for the COVID-19 vaccine for Maricopa County residents 65 years and older.

“We understand the registration process on the Maricopa.gov website can be complicated and overwhelming,” said Liz Agboola, CEO of FreshStart, senior placement services and Moses Behavioral Care. “Our team has volunteered to assist those who are truly in need of assistance and have limited or no access to outside recourses.”

Since rolling out this service two weeks ago, the team has received over 250 online submissions from seniors looking for a hand.

Now, FreshStart is looking to expand their team of volunteers who are interested in helping seniors register and/or providing transportation assistance.

“In order to meet the demand for our service and help as many people as possible, we are looking for some more volunteers to join our team,” said Ms. Agboola.

Individuals interested in volunteering can visit https://freshstartagency.com/covid-vaccine-assistance and complete the form at the bottom of the page.

FreshStart does not have vaccines directly nor means to move already-scheduled appointments.

All vaccines will be administered at locations designated by Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) and registration will be through state-issued websites only. Fresh Start is not a government agency and cannot answer medical questions when issuing assistance.
