It’s getting busy in Florence as it takes on the holiday season

On Saturday Dec-10 and 24, the Florence Farmers Market takes place from 8 a.m.-noon at the McFarland State Historic Park, 24 W. Ruggles Street.

The Farmers Market, held by the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, allows residents to shop locally. They also can hear local musician, Jerry Larson, playing his guitar and singing during today’s market. On Dec. 24, the Farmers Market will get a visit from the Grinch.

Next year, residents will be treated to open houses from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Florence Visitor Center Gift Shop at the McFarland State Historic Park.

The open houses take place on the first Thursday in January, February, March and April. Residents can meet local artists and crafters, visit the historic park and spend the day in Florence.
