The holiday season is underway and it is time for Arizona Eye Institute and Cosmetic Laser Center’s favorite Christmas tradition.
Institute employees will send Christmas cards with messages of gratitude to U.S. troops serving overseas far from home on Christmas Day. The institute team team invites residents to join them again this year. To participate, write heart-felt positive messages of appreciation and holiday cheer to the troops in holiday cards and deliver those to one of the Institute locations during open hours by Friday, Dec. 9. The Institute has offices in Sun City, 10701 W. Bell Road, and Sun City West, 19052 R.H. Johnson Blvd.
Lynne Deckers of Sun City West decorated boxes to drop donated cards with messages into.
For those coming in for an exam blank cards will be available at each location patients can write messages to the troops in the lobbies.
“It’s the least we can do,” said Kendall Ashba of Peoria as she wrote a message of appreciation to troops while visiting the practice with friend Jackie Lythgoe of Mesa. “They put their lives on the line for us.”
The cards will be delivered to Classic Rock Station KSLX (100.7 FM) as part of their annual “10,000 For The Troops.”
Cards need no postage or stamps, the radio station will be sending cards in bulk. Envelopes are also not required. Residents can donate as many cards as they like.
