Peter Heck, captain of the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers, recently presented two checks for scholarships to Apache Junction High School students.

The two recipients, each receiving $500, are Adelyn Simpson and Juliea Cluff.

Both will be attending Scottsdale Community College in the fall and pursuing careers in equine veterinary medicine.

The Apache Junction Mounted Rangers is a local group that acts as a peacekeeping group. It supports organizations by raising funds at events such as the Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo. The group is always looking for new volunteers and charitable organizations to donate to. Go to ajmountedrangers.org.
