Copper Springs will open a new behavioral health hospital in Gilbert on Aug. 24.

The modern, state-of-the art Copper Springs East is at 3755 S. Rome St., near Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, according to a release.

Copper Springs East is a 60,000 square-foot, 72-bed hospital, with inpatient and outpatient services for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, addiction and other mental-health issues. It was built with patient comfort in mind, featuring open, airy spaces with amenities such as snack stations, a workout room, spacious patient rooms, and outside courtyards, the release states.

“We are delighted that Copper Springs East is opening to expand these needed services to the community,” Beckie Shauinger, CEO of Copper Springs East, said in the release. “Our goal is to provide another convenient point of access so that we can provide high-quality, compassionate care for those who need us. Further, we look forward to coordinating and collaborating with other local health providers, health systems and payers, to ensure our patients receive the best continuity of care possible.”

Copper Springs East has hired more than 100 employees, including nurses, physicians, behavioral health experts and administration for the new facility, which is the organization’s first in the East Valley.
