CONCERT
Church hosts steel band, dinner

Lakeview United Methodist Church, 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., is hosting a concert featuring the steel drum band Rhythm is Life 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in the Worship Center.
There will be a free-will offering and no reservations are needed.
The Rhythm is Life steel band began in Phoenix in 2005 as a learning lab for music teachers, using steel drums or pans. Currently consisting of music teachers and community members, they feature music from the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago.

The concert immediately follows the TNT (Thursday Nights Together) meal in Smoot Hall. The dinner starts at 5 p.m., costs $7 per person and reservations must be made by 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. The menu is herb roasted chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, roasted green beans, salad bar, dessert and beverages (iced water, lemonade, iced tea, coffee).
