Central Arizona College’s Lifelong Learning joins AWS Academy

Posted

Lifelong Learning of Central Arizona College recently announced its participation in AWS Academy, an Amazon Web Services program that provides higher education institutions with a ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum.

Beginning in mid-May 2021, students can enroll in courses that will prepare them to pursue careers in the fast-growing cloud computing space and industry-recognized AWS certifications, according to a release.

Lifelong Learning has joined the AWS Academy program to offer the cloud foundations course to students starting in Summer 2021.

“AWS Academy brings together higher education institutions, students, and industry leaders to address the cloud skills gap and meet the need for thousands of new cloud computing professionals. By offering AWS-authored courses and learning resources to educators, we are investing in higher education at large, supporting educators and administrators as they prepare their students to join the 21st century workforce,” the release states.

The AWS Academy curriculum is developed and maintained by AWS subject-matter experts, ensuring that it reflects current services and up-to-date best practices. Courses are taught by AWS Academy-accredited educators who are trained by AWS to help students become proficient in the technology.

“We are proud to make the AWS Academy curriculum available to our students,” Joel Beck, director of lifelong learning at CAC, said in the release. “The rapid rise of computing is creating a growing number of high-quality jobs at organizations around the world, and the technical skills that students develop through this program will position them well for their careers today and in the future.”
