Carroll Shelby's Cobra Super Snake up for auction again at Barrett-Jackson
Car set records last time sold in 2015

The personal car of famed auto designer Carroll Shelby will be crossing the block again this spring at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale as part of a private collection.
The car, a Cobra 427 Super Snake known as CSX 3015, was a one-off of Mr. Shelby's reknown design that featured a dual supercharged engine and other features.
"CSX 3015 is arguably one of the most iconic, and important, American sports cars ever built," said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. "In 1968, Road & Track called it 'The Cobra to end all Cobras.'"
It is not the first time the car has been sold at Barrett-Jackson.
"When it first crossed our block in 2007, Carroll was there and told the story of how he got pulled over by the Nevada Highway Patrol doing 190 mph in the car. Its sale ended up setting a new world record for any Shelby vehicle sold at auction," Mr. Jackson said. "Carroll often said, ‘make history, then repeat it,’ and that’s exactly what we hope to do again. This car was truly ‘Carroll’s Cobra,’ and it, along with other incredible vehicles selling from this private collection, will make collector car history next month.”
The car last crossed the Barrett-Jackson block in 2015 where it was sold for $5.1 million as collector Ron Pratte was selling off his cars.
The Super Snake is part of another private collection heading to the auction being held at WestWorld of Scottsdale March 20-27. Seventeen other cars, including a rare 1955 Ford Thunderbird that was the first of the car sold to the public will be part of the auction.
