Instead of an in-person gala, Camelot Therapeutic Horsemanship 11th Annual Starry Knights fundraising event will be virtual.
This year, Camelot will host a virtual event and sell Camelot Prize Packs, an exclusive gift box full of Camelot goodies to be mailed to participants, according to a press release.
Recipients will also receive early access to the online silent auction, a door prize ticket and inclusion in the keynote video about Camelot, which offers free lessons in horsemanship to kids and adults with physical disabilities.
Money raised at the annual gala is used to feed horses, maintain the facility and pay instructors, the release noted.
“A lot has changed since we celebrated Starry Knights 2019, but the strength, resolve, passion and commitment of the entire Camelot community remain the same,” said Mary Hadsall, Camelot’s executive director, in a prepared statement.
“Ticket sales have always been an integral part of this fundraiser and since we won’t be holding an in-person event, we needed to get creative.”
Last year’s in-person event sold out, according to the release, adding that more friends and family are invited to participate in the event to also widen their friendship circle.
“In addition to Prize Packs, supporters may also purchase stars in various denominations to dedicate to a loved one. Stars are hung at the Camelot ranch and are a beautiful way to honor a cherished person or animal while also supporting Camelot’s therapeutic riding program,” said Ms. Hadsall.
The prize packs are sold much like tickets and can be purchased at camelotaz.org/sk2020 in singles, doubles and parties of eight or 10. Camelot will mail the gift boxes to everyone included in the party.
The online auction opens Oct. 19 and closes at 8 p.m., Oct. 23; Virtual celebration week runs Oct. 19-23; Gala finale starts at 6 p.m., said the release.
