Bush Fire forces evacuation of Apache Lake

A “go” notification has been issued in the area of Apache Lake in Maricopa County due to the Bush Fire burning along State Route 87.
Residents and visitors are to evacuate now, according to a release.
Some Apache Junction residents mistakenly received a text message calling for them to evacuate, Apache Junction Police Department said on Facebook @ApacheJunctionPD.
"Apache Junction has not been ordered to evacuate. If you received an evacuation notice from Maricopa County and you have an Apache Junction address, that message was not intended for you. There is no evacuation order in place for the Apache Junction area," AJPD says.
Bush Fire evacuation
"Persons who are in the area for recreational activities should return to their homes immediately. Those residents who live in the area of Apache Lake should travel towards Miami-Globe," the release from Maricopa County on the evacuation states.
"Remember to bring snacks, water, prescriptions, identification and other important documents, change of clothes, leashes and carrier for pets, pet food, and any other necessary supplies for yourself and your family," the release states.
Drive with caution and obey directions of emergency personnel. For those residents who have been evacuated and require assistance, call the American Red Cross at 1-800-842-7349.
