Banner Baywood Medical Center hosts community blood drives June 29-30

Posted

In response to the critical shortage of blood announced last week by Vitalant, seven Banner hospitals have partnered with Vitalant to host community blood drives, including one in Mesa.

“Residents are urged to roll up their sleeves in support of patients, as blood drive cancellations forced by COVID-19 challenges continue to affect donation rates. While donor vacations also reduce the number of people giving blood this time of year, heavy traffic on the highways has increased the potential for accidents and the need for blood,” according to a release.

Banner Baywood Medical Center, 6644 E. Baywood Ave. in Mesa, is hosting a blood drive in the Women’s Center Copper Room 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, June 29-30.

For Banner blood drive locations and appointments, go to vitalant.org/Banner.

For additional Vitalant donation locations, go to donors.vitalant.org or call 1-877-258-4825.
