Apache Junction planning commission meets Tuesday

An update on an affordable housing assessment and strategic plan prepared in 2010 will be discussed Tuesday by the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 in the City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
The housing assessment and strategic plan was funded by a grant from the Arizona Department of Housing and conducted by the Drachman Institute, a planning and architecture organization housed by UofA. The institute assessed demographic and land use data to recommend solutions towards affordable housing, according to a city document.

Also on the agenda is a presentation, discussion and recognition of Tess Nesser’s service on the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission. Chairwoman Nesser in August was elected to the Apache Junction City Council to a term beginning in January.
