Andeen: I support Julie Pace for re-election

Posted

I heartily endorse Vice Mayor Julie Pace for re-election to the Paradise Valley Town Council.

During my tenure on the Town Council, I have witnessed firsthand the long hours, thorough preparation, and thoughtful analysis that Julie devotes to the town’s business. She sincerely cares about our residents and enhancing the quality of life for our community.

Vice Mayor Pace’s voting record shows that focus and care too.

She was unanimously selected by the mayor and all other members of the council to be Vice Mayor for 2020. Julie thinks outside the box and works collaboratively with town staff, residents, and others to seek economical and sensible solutions to issues. Julie is genuine, sincere and stands by her word.

Before I was elected to the council, I served as a volunteer for the Paradise Valley Police Department. In that role I was able to observe the work that Julie Pace did to improve public safety and support our police department in her role as chair of the town’s ACOPS Committee (Advisory Committee on Public Safety).

After being elected to the council, I was pleased to succeed Julie as chair of ACOPS and our residents and police department continue to benefit from Julie’s contributions and leadership. I know I can count on Julie to support public safety.

When I began my service on the Town Council, I had knowledge of what to expect from my history of volunteer service but also being a witness to both my mother’s service on Board of Adjustments and currently the Historical Committee and my father’s service on the Paradise Valley Town Council years ago.

My family has deep history in this town starting with our family member who, in the late 40s, fell in love with our mountains and unique character and beauty.

My father was grounded in the fact that we must preserve our mountains and unique town character looking to ensure a low density, residential community for the years to come.

He was proud to see Vice Mayor Julie Pace following in his passion and pursuit.

Julie works collaboratively with our staff and council and has been extraordinarily helpful and kind in providing information and insights to me to help me be an effective council member.

Julie has been involved constructively in a wide range of issues, and her analysis and solutions often penetrate to the core of the issues.

She has made a real difference on the Town Council, and I urge town residents to support her re-election so she can continue her service to the town for another term.
