The Imagine Prep Superstition Football team in Apache Junction made it to the CAA State Semifinal, nearly losing on a trip to the Arizona Football State Finals by a score of 52-48 against Mesa Heritage Academy.

The Imagine Prep Football team was also well represented in the post-season All-State Football Awards, according to a release.

Imagine Prep Junior Quarterback Jaylen Rufus was named the CAA State of Arizona Offensive Player of the Year. Junior Brody Hartman was named 1st Team All-State Offensive Line and Junior Cody Gamel was named 2nd Team All-State Runningback. On the Imagine Prep defensive side of the ball, Junior Will Chambers was named first-team All-State Defensive Lineman, Junior Stephen Shinberg was named second-team All-State Safety and Junior Cody Gamel was also named 2nd Team All-State cornerback.

Head Coach Jeremy Brigham said he was proud of the team.

“We had a lot of players who deserved to be on the All-State team and a few were deserving who didn’t make it,” Brigham said in the release.

“Our players earned all the praise and recognition that they got after working as hard as they did all season. We are proud of our football culture and can’t wait to get started on spring ball.” Based on this year’s results, the football future looks to be bright in Apache Junction at Image Prep Superstition for many years to come,” he said.
