The Arizona Fall League announced its 2023 rosters Friday with several of baseball's top young talents scattered across the six rosters around the Valley, including the Peoria Javelinas.
Fall League games begin Monday, Oct. 2.
Ten of MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects are headed to this year's showcase circuit, according to Major League Baseball’s Sam Dykstra and Jonathan Mayo.
Five Major League organizations team up to form each AFL roster, and for the Javelinas that means prospects from the Guardians, Mariners, Marlins, Padres and Rays.
Four of those Top 100 prospects are on the Peoria roster.
Among baseball’s top prospects is Carson Williams, ranked No. 19 overall. The shortstop will represent the Rays on Peoria’s roster. Joining him is catcher Harry Ford, the 39th-highest ranked prospect, who represents the Mariners; and two Guardians’ prospects: first baseman Kyle Manzardo, ranked 58th, and outfielder Chase DeLauter, ranked 85th overall.
The Javelinas play their games at Peoria Sports Complex, which hosts its first Fall League home game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 against visiting Mesa.
The Arizona Fall League regular season runs through Thursday, Nov. 9. The play-in semifinals take place between the second- and third-place squads on Friday, Nov. 10, at Glendale's Camelback Ranch.
The AFL Championship game will be played Saturday, Nov. 11, at Scottsdale Stadium.
