[Update: The Town of Queen Creek posted on Facebook at about 10 a.m. Jan. 25 that MCSO had opened the parking lot and that individuals with vehicles in the area may pick them up.]

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office detectives are on scene and investigating a shooting in Queen Creek, MCSO said Jan. 24.

Officers involved in the shooting were from Goodyear Police Department, MCSO said.

"No officers were injured. Two suspects were transported to a local hospital; one suspect was shot, his condition is unknown at this time," Sgt. J. Enriquez, MCSO public information officer, said in a post on Twitter @SgtJEnriquez.

"Please avoid the area it will be closed for several hours," he said.

Other sources on Twitter state the shooting was at Queen Creek Marketplace, which is at 21398 S. Ellsworth Loop in Queen Creek.

"Earlier today the Goodyear Police Department was conducting follow-up on a current ongoing investigation out of their city. During the follow up, they were involved in a shooting. No officers are injured. MCSO is going to assume the investigation. I will be en-route to the scene," Sgt. J. Enriquez said on Twitter.

The Town of Queen Creek posted on Facebook at about 10 a.m. Jan. 25 that MCSO had opened the parking lot.

"Individuals with vehicles in the area may pick them up. Due to an ongoing law enforcement investigation, a portion of the Queen Creek Marketplace parking lot is still closed and is anticipated to remain closed for several hours," the post states @queencreek.

"Information will be updated when MCSO opens the area and individuals with vehicles parked in the closed area can pick them up. The businesses are not impacted by the parking lot closure," it states.
