MCSO identifies woman killed in crash in Youngtown area

A woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after a collision in the Youngtown area.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a collision before 12:30 a.m. Monday that involved a single vehicle into a palm tree on Oakmont Drive.

MCSO said  a female passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Banner Boswell Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.  The male driver also suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale.

MCSO on Thursday identified the woman as Pamela Daniels, 56.

MCSO's Vehicle Crimes Unit responded to the scene and is investigating what caused the collision.

County assessor records and a Facebook profile for Ms. Daniels indicated she was from Youngtown and lived less than two miles from the scene of the crash.
