Ice hockey probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of fighting fire. But if it weren’t for hockey, new Peoria Fire-Medical Chief Gary Bernard might not be in the position he is in today.
In an effort to save more lives on Arizona’s roadways, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety is partnering with the Glendale Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to enforce the state’s seat belt and child safety seat laws.
As a fire fighter for the Peoria Fire-Medical Department, Capt. Hunter Clare was badly injured in an explosion at an APS battery facility in Surprise in April of 2019, and has yet to return to full duty work.
