Wrong-way driver dies in Scottsdale collision

One person died and two were injured Saturday morning in a collision on Loop 101 in Scottsdale.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety received information about 1:55 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, regarding a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Loop 101 north of Shea Boulevard.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision, DPS officials said. Authorities did not report the extent of the injuries sustained by those taken to a hospital.

Loop 101 reopened at the crash site at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, according to DPS.
