More than 400 Scottsdale area residents turned out April 21 to tell their stories of how the Trump Administration’s policies have affected them, and what they want U.S. Representative David Schweikert, Arizona 1st Congressional District, to do about it.
People attending the town hall protested against a range of policies and activities taken by the Trump Administration, according to a press release.
Approximately 30 people told stories of how they are personally affected by Department of Government Efficiency cuts. The stories included potential impacts to disabled family members dependent on social security and Medicaid, students who would be left behind without the U.S. Department of Education, veterans whose medical benefits are at risk and neighbors who fear deportation even though they are legal residents.
Schweikert was invited to attend the town hall, but declined.
