The Marshall Gallery, Scottsdale’s Arts and Culture presents 2020 events

Posted

The Marshall Gallery, 7106 E. Main Street, rings in the New Year 2020 with Scottsdale's world-class arts and cultural events ranging from visual art to regular concert series.

The Marshall Gallery’s owners DeeAn Gillespie and Peter Strub area said to have “engaged well-known Scottsdale personality” Sandra (Sandy) Schenkat as the cultural attachée as she has organized this season’s concert line-up.

The gallery accommodates up to 80 patrons for regular music performances, according to a press release, noting the past several years that local and international performers have headlined entertaining and informative music series.

Ms. Schenkat also organizes special events to highlight the gallery and its collaboration with other local businesses, the release added.

This season’s concerts include:

We3, an ensemble of piano, violin and vocals, will perform signature jazzy, popular and classical favorites with splashes of Blues, Latin rhythms and even French Chansons.

The group’s three performers recently returned from France where they performed in various favorite night spots. Renée Grant Patrick is the vocalist with a rich legacy, as her father was a member of the celebrated Ink Spots. Suzanne Lansford plays violin and sings Chansons (French songs).

Her musical artistry conceals the fact that she is an engineer by day. Nicole Pesce is the amazing and vivacious pianist of the trio. The three have entertained audiences all over the Valley, including at the Musical Instrument Museum.

The first We3 gallery concert is 7 p.m., Jan. 24. The $25 ticket includes conversation with the musicians afterwards with wine, cheese and sweet treats.

Classical Love Songs will be presented  by Jocelyn Obermeyer, Daga Schon and Pamela Morita. This night will be filled with music to inspire love and peace, accompanied by a harp, violin, piano and vocals to create a Valentine’s Day Spirit at 7 p.m. Feb. 14. Tickets include mingling with the artists and treats afterwards.

Tavit Tashjian, accomplished Armenian classical pianist and music history educator, presents classical favorites of Chopin and Liszt at 7 p.m. on March 20; on April 17, will present beloved baroque and classical composers J. S. Bach and W. A. Mozart, accompanied by a string quartet, all in the atmosphere of the spacious Marshall Gallery’s fine art.

The Gallery and Public Interface:

SEL Restaurant of Main Street, Scottsdale will cater for about 30 Valley of the Sun concierge members on Jan. 14 for their monthly meeting. The Marshall Gallery invited the concierge group to broaden awareness of Scottsdale’s culinary prowess and Brandon Levine, executive chef and owner of SEL will entertain the guests with a selection of gourmet samples.

A private civic reception in the gallery on Jan. 18 will host prominent citizens and city representatives who support arts and culture. Dr. Gerd Wuestemann, CEO of Scottsdale Arts, along with gallery principal DeeAn Strub will share ideas of expanding the impact of the arts in our world-class city, while patrons and guests will enjoy a harp performance, bouchées and libations.

The Marshall Gallery kicks-off of the New Year with the gallery’s two new art consultants, Shelby Alex and Jamie Bingham, both with fine arts degrees, sharing their talents alongside the stable of artists. They are available to help patrons daily, except Sunday.
