One person is dead, and Scottsdale police are searching for the killer following a Saturday evening shooting near 70th Street and Palm Lane.

Police said the area where the shooting occurred was “presumed safe” Saturday night, but the suspect remained on the loose.

Scottsdale officers responded to the shooting at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at an apartment complex and rendered aid to the victim, who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Scottsdale Sgt. Kevin Quon did not identify the victim or provide information about the suspect, saying the case remains an active homicide investigation.
