Author Debra Boblitt urges leaders to forge their own path to greatness

An inherent part of leadership is stepping out with courage, even when you stand alone, according to Scottsdale resident, author, speaker, and coach Debra Boblitt.

Her new book, “Bold Mission: Courageously Pursue Your Calling” issues a challenge to leaders in corporate boardrooms, communities, churches, nonprofits, schools and homes.

“Men and women are being called to step forward, speak up and lead the way through the chaos of modern life,” Boblitt said in a written statement. “If you have a mission to lead, the world needs you. It needs your ideas and your dedication and your refusal to sit back and just go with the cultural flow. It needs you to not let things happen, but to make things happen. It needs you to make your voice heard and your presence felt.

Boblitt spent decades as an executive with a Fortune 50 financial-services company, pursuing her personal mission to develop and empower leaders. Since retiring from that career and making Scottsdale her home, she has focused on turning her myriad lessons from the boardroom into guidance for others to take their dreams from idea to actuality.

“So many people have felt the initial stirring of their calling, but don’t know how to move forward,” Boblitt said in a press release. “I wanted to provide a way for anyone with a dream to dig deep and bring their purpose to life.”

Boblitt has developed a simple four-step formula for high-performing professionals to do just that. The BOLD framework is:

B: Believing in yourself and your calling
O: Owning your mission
L: Living your purpose day-to-day
D: Duplicating your efforts to inspire others

“My goal is to equip generations of leaders to create impassioned, positive change for others as they embrace their own missions,” Boblitt said in a press release. “True success is about leaving a lasting legacy. My legacy is in other leaders.”

Boblitt is hosting a series of readings and book signings in Scottsdale and Phoenix throughout the spring. “Bold Mission: Courageously Pursue Your Calling” is available on Amazon in hardback, paperback, and audio formats.
