Scottsdale’s annual Kierland Pop celebration returns modified, Nov. 13-15

Posted

This year’s fourth-annual Kierland POP Festival will happen Friday, Nov. 13, through Sunday, Nov. 15, at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, but with modified plans to accommodate public health needs.

Festival events and experiences will be in an outdoor, open-air setting with social distancing; wearing face masks in any indoor space with masks given to guests in need; cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing shared spaces enforced, according to a press release.

Hand sanitizer stations will be throughout the property, and individual hand sanitizer containers will be available to guests, the release noted.

Attendees will have the opportunity to support local artists who have had their business negatively impacted by having fewer opportunities to showcase their work this year, the release said of the weekend experience.

The festival kicks off 5-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13, at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, 6902 E. Greenway Parkway in Scottsdale,  with a 5K night run and walk around the Westin Kierland Golf Club, benefitting local breast cancer nonprofit “Don’t Be a Chump! Check for a Lump!” The cost is $30 if registered by Oct. 30 and $35 if register in November. To register: http://bit.ly/5knightrun.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, Sunday, Nov. 15, Kierland POP continues its series of free, fun, socially distanced activities outdoors, including live music, entertainment and arts performances, and the opportunity for holiday shopping from an artisan market featuring about a dozen local artists, creators and makers selling various handmade creations at Kierland Commons’ Main Street, 15205 N. Kierland Blvd., Scottsdale.

The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is offering a weekend staycation package for Kierland POP guests, the release added, noting 25% off the best available room rates, a $25 resort credit per night, plus two complimentary registrations to the Kierland POP 5K Night Run. To redeem offer, mention or enter special booking code LRR.

Presented by the Kierland Master Association and a collaboration between Kierland Commons, the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and Adventure Fitness, event parking is available on-site at Kierland Commons and The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
